The client

The SMCP group has signed a contract with TRANSITIC to equip its new 10,000 m² warehouse in Marly-la-Ville, near Roissy. The group includes the Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot brands. SMCP currently generates sales of €297 million through its network of shops. Having already made significant inroads in Europe, the group’s brands are now looking to the United States and China with confidence.

The project

The aim of equipping the SMCP warehouse is to increase production and storage capacity while rationalising flows. The building currently comprises a ‘folded and suspended’ storage area. It also includes a ‘preparation’ area for continuous supply to the 540 points of sale. The aim is to respond to very short replenishment flows, and give the group greater flexibility in a context of growth.

The solution

The TRANSITIC system is installed in synergy with the customer’s logistics software, enabling the collections to be delivered in three waves dedicated to the group’s different brands. An overhead conveyor transfers garments from one point to another. A flat conveyor can also be used to send garments to the sales department, and static shelving can be used to store them.

This installation has enabled SMCP to increase its productivity by a factor of 4, from 500 to 2,000 cartons/day.
